Facebook Ads Account Shut Down–Lost Thousands!

When it comes to Internet security, companies must ensure their security systems are top notch. Why? Think about it. Everything you are except for your physical self is online. Facebook has your personal information including family members, message history, and life events. Your bank account information is probably in hundreds of online databases. Uber even knows where you are exactly at all times. And there are people out there that want your “stuff”. Be afraid. lol.

In December of 2015 my first venture was seeing stellar success early on, averaging $6,000-$8,000 a day in sales revenue, all through Facebook paid advertising. I was working 18 hour days to keep up with the pace and learn as much as I could about business. On Christmas Eve I took a break to be with family, and of course I decided we should watch Straight Out of Compton as a family. The movie wasn’t out yet, so I downloaded the torrent from Pirate Bay. Boy, that was a huge mistake.

When you download illegal torrents from the internet, you’re vulnerable to hackers, and one uploaded malware onto my computer that Christmas Eve. The hacker breached my Facebook ads account, and Facebook shut our ads down for three days. All for one night of pleasure with NWA, we lost $24,000 in revenue. Luckily, I had a friend of a friend that worked at Facebook, and he escalated our issue. We could have lost even more!

What’s are the lessons here? 1) Never put all of your eggs in one basket and 2) download illegal content at your own risk.
